Andhra Pradesh,Oct 14: Shri Nitesh Rane, Minister of Fisheries and Ports, Government of Maharashtra, visited AquaExchange’s R&D and manufacturing facility in Vijayawada during a study tour of Andhra Pradesh. The visit provided an opportunity to examine how connected devices, physical AI and farm data can support day-to-day aquaculture operations.

The minister deep-dived into AquaExchange’s solutions - energy management, automated feeding, water-quality monitoring, AI-based farm intelligence, crop monitoring and disease diagnosis. The focus was on translating farm-level information into practical decisions for shrimp farmers.
AquaExchange develops aquaculture technology that combines connected hardware, farm-management software and data analytics. Its products include PowerMon for power monitoring and AquaBot for automated feeding. Through its platform, the company also supports access to farm inputs, financing, insurance and market linkages.
The study tour highlighted the relevance of technology-enabled aquaculture to Maharashtra, including opportunities to improve resource use and manage farming risks. Adapting these approaches to local farming conditions was a key consideration.
