Oct 23: Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has announced the launch of the Motilal Oswal Multi Asset-Omni Fund of Funds, an open-ended fund of funds scheme investing in equity-oriented schemes, debt-oriented schemes, and Gold and Silver Exchange-Traded Funds. The New Fund Offer will remain open from October 21, 2026, to November 4, 2026.
The scheme aims to provide investors with exposure to multiple asset classes through a single investment product, supported by an active asset allocation approach designed to respond to changing market conditions. Its investment strategy evaluates macroeconomic parameters, valuation and momentum indicators to guide allocation decisions across asset classes.
The fund's investment framework includes equity scheme selection across market capitalisations, active management of exposure to underlying schemes, allocation to debt-oriented schemes, and investments in Gold and Silver ETFs. The approach recognises that different asset classes respond differently to market cycles and economic conditions.
Equity markets are influenced by macroeconomic conditions, corporate earnings, valuations, liquidity and market sentiment. Debt markets are shaped by interest-rate cycles, inflation, policy decisions and credit spreads. Gold and silver are influenced by factors such as the US dollar, real interest rates, geopolitical risks, industrial demand and supply. The strategy seeks to adjust allocations dynamically in response to changing market conditions.
As per the Scheme Information Document, the scheme provides for an allocation of 95% to 100% in units of domestic equity-oriented schemes, debt-oriented schemes, and Gold and Silver ETFs, subject to the detailed asset allocation provisions. The specified allocation ranges include 10% to 80% in equity-oriented schemes, including active schemes, ETFs or index funds; 10% to 80% in debt-oriented schemes, ETFs or index funds; and 10% to 80% in Gold and/or Silver ETFs. The scheme may also invest in debt and money market instruments. Investors are advised to refer to the SID for complete details.
The multi-asset approach brings together asset classes with different investment characteristics. Equities offer potential for capital appreciation, while debt may provide accrual income. Gold serves as a potential store of value, while silver also offers exposure to industrial demand. Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) provide exposure to real estate. By combining asset classes with varying characteristics, the strategy seeks to provide diversified exposure across different market conditions.
The scheme's investment objective is to generate long-term capital appreciation by primarily investing in a diversified portfolio of active and passive equity-oriented schemes, active and passive debt-oriented schemes, and Gold and Silver ETFs, leveraging the investment styles of the underlying funds. However, there can be no assurance that the investment objective will be realised.
The scheme's benchmark is 60% Nifty 500 TRI, 5% domestic prices of gold, 5% domestic prices of silver, and 30% Nifty Short Duration Debt Index.
The minimum lump-sum application amount during the NFO and on an ongoing basis is ₹500, with additional investments in multiples of ₹1. Multiple Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) frequencies are available, with details provided in the SID.
An exit load of 1% will apply if units are redeemed on or before 90 days from the date of allotment. No exit load will apply after 90 days. The applicable provisions for switches between schemes, plans and options are detailed in the SID.
Commenting on the launch, Ajay Khandelwal, Fund Manager at Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company (MOAMC), said,
“In an evolving market environment, investors may benefit from a disciplined approach that looks beyond a single asset class. The Motilal Oswal Multi Asset-Omni Fund of Funds brings together equity, debt, gold, silver and REITs through a single investment solution, supported by an active asset allocation framework. By evaluating macroeconomic conditions, valuations and momentum indicators, the fund aims to adapt allocations to changing market dynamics and pursue long-term capital appreciation. The approach seeks to provide investors with diversified exposure while leveraging the investment strategies of the underlying schemes.”
The fund will be managed by Ajay Khandelwal and Bhalchandra Shinde for the equity component, Rakesh Shetty for the debt component, and Swapnil Mayekar for the overseas securities component.
The product is intended for investors seeking long-term capital appreciation through investments in equity-oriented schemes, debt-oriented schemes, and Gold and Silver ETFs. The scheme is subject to risks associated with its underlying investments, including market, liquidity, foreign investment, derivatives and other scheme-specific risks.
