Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: Haldiram’s is set to expand its manufacturing presence in Odisha after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government during an investor outreach programme in New Delhi.
The company was among nine major businesses that signed MoUs with the Odisha government. The Odisha FoodPro 2026 summit attracted investment commitments of more than ₹6,000 crore in the food-processing sector, while the broader Delhi-NCR investor outreach brought proposals worth ₹66,392 crore across different industries.
The proposed Haldiram’s facility is expected to strengthen the company’s manufacturing capacity and supply chain as it expands its product portfolio across domestic and international markets.
Founded in Bikaner in 1937, Haldiram’s later expanded to Delhi and Nagpur and has established manufacturing facilities in Nagpur, Noida, Rudrapur, Delhi-NCR and Hooghly.
Several other food and beverage companies have also proposed investments in Odisha. Coca-Cola has proposed ₹300 crore for another aerated beverage facility, while Balaji Wafers and Let’s Try have each proposed investments of ₹200 crore. Beyond Snack has proposed ₹150 crore for a manufacturing unit.
Odisha is increasingly developing as a food-processing destination, with companies such as ITC, Nestlé, Parle, Britannia and Tata Consumer Products already operating in the sector. The state government is also promoting value addition in agricultural products and plans to establish five food parks.
